Adventures & Blustery Day Shenanigans

Adventures & Blustery Day Shenanigans

Hi Shenanigan Enthusiasts,

It’s been a blustery, snow blowing sideways few days here at the funny farm. I love most elements of nature, but I struggle to appreciate the wind. If I could, I would put it in my handy dandy F-IT Bucket. Most the gang hangs inside the barn on days like this, though I just watched Rowdy and Rasta standing strong letting their hair blow in the wind. More time inside the barn means more sh*t to shovel and more tunes to sing along too! My theme song for this morning is “She Thinks My Tractor is Sexy, Gotta love a little Kenny! (Click to sing and dance along with me.) Wind drifts make coming and going a challenge. Thank goodness for my handsome, hubby taking our tractor “BOB” out at 4:00 am this morning or we would be snowed in due to hard packed four-foot walls of snow. You bet; I think his tractor is SEXY!!!!

Wind drifts, sideways snow and all, I am so thankful! Thankful to see all these sweet fuzzy faces after a fun bucket list trip to Nashville and Alabama to enjoy my favorite tunes, favorite sips, yummy eats, ‘Bama football and shenanigans with my favorite peeps!!! Happy Thanksgiving & happy birthday to me!!! Cheers to checking things off my bucket list and adding more to it along the way!

Oh, and cheers to my handy dandy head lamp! Even in the blustery weather I can see what I am doing when go down and say good night to the funny farm. Best part is it makes me look like the angel that I am! Wink, wink! Get your must have head lamp too! Click HERE

THANK YOU to my favorite barrel racer, Kay for taking care of everyone while we were away! I am so thankful to have someone great to love them when I leave.

DREAMERS

What better place to visit than Nashville to be reminded of the magic of allowing ourselves to dream! So many dreamers, taking the leap of faith to pursue their dreams. I am always blown away by those who have turned their dreams into reality singing their hearts out and those who are giving it their all to do the same. So much talent. Some will make it big, others won’t but either way they won’t have a what if, when they get to the end of their bucket lists. This trip was especially special because I got to experience all of it through our boys' eyes. They too were inspired by what is possible outside the place they call home. By the end of our first night there they decided they will move there together when our youngest graduates next year.

So many things about this plan makes my mom heart smile. First, I will have another reason to visit one of my favorite places! Second, I love that they know they can. No question. No doubt, just - let’s do it! They have the confidence to fly, knowing they will always have a place to call home. I love that they want to do it together, I am grateful for the bond they share. I love them excited to take on the world. Will they fall? Surely, they will at times, but I know they will learn, grow and be better for it. I love that they know how to DREAM. I love all they know is possible. Each night while we were there, they would make their way up to the rooftop of our building and talk about their plan to make it happen. They don’t have it all figured out. I still don’t have it all figured out. None of us will ever have it all figured out, that would be boring anyway! But knowing anything is possible will surely help them make their dreams a reality. Keep dreaming boys!

Circles Around this Town is a tune that I heard singing in my head as the words above poured out. It so perfectly shares Maren Morris’s journey pursuing her dream. May we all drive the circles to make our dream come true.

Circles Around This Town - Maren Morris (click to be inspired)

I swear I don't know how I trusted

A Montero with the AC busted

A couple bad demos on a burned CD

Would take me all the way to Tennessee

I showed up to the new apartment

First month's, last month's, two deposits

Hadn't heard the sound of a door slam yet

Thank God I was an optimist

I drove circles around this town

Tryin' to write circles around this town

Tryna say somethin' with meanin'

Somethin' worth singin' about

I've been kind and I've been ruthless

Yeah, got here but the truth is

Thought when I hit it, it'd all look different

But I still got the pedal down

Drivin' circles around this town

DRIVIN NOWHERE

Sometimes we drive in circles and sometimes we just plain get stuck! Today Kyler got stuck! As I was preparing my words from the heart above, Kyler called. “Mom you have to come get me and I need to bring the tractor back to get my car!” He told me where he was but the service was patchy, so I hopped in the truck and headed out. I nearly got stuck in the new drifts that blew across the road since Jeff left this morning. I reflected as I drove slowly his way, grateful he was ok. Thinking I knew where his car was, I thought well maybe he will go a little slower around that turn now. When I reached the spot, I thought he was l, I saw him but no car! Oh no.  He said he had run about a mile to get cell service, in shorts of course! He had decided to take the scenic route home on a snowy, windy, DRIFTY day. Because why not! I do love his spirit! The road was drifted so bad the car bottomed out in feet of snow. Good news is he remembered the ricotta cheese I needed for the lasagna I was planning to make for dinner. Lasagna is in the oven as I type. His car however is still in the snow waiting for Jeff to get home and give us the run down on the new attachment for the tractor.

The magic in the messy was he is ok, I got to take in a beautiful sunset from a different view than I have experienced before, I got the mail, we laughed, and he got stuck but found his way and asked for the help he needed. Life lesson for today! All in all, so much more magic than messy. No doubt he will be driving circles around this town again tomorrow and a little wiser for the rut in his road.

SWEET HOME ALABAMA

And speaking of MAGIC, the Iron Bowl was nothing short or magic! The Alabama vs. Auburn rivalry was truly BADASS to experience. So much spirit and history. The energy radiated unlike any other sporting event I have ever experienced. If you know me, you know I am in it for the spirit and the nachos. The nachos were lacking but the spirit was exceptional!!!  And yet again making memories with Jeff and the boys was priceless! This week was one we will laugh and talk about forever. Grateful.

Join me dancing in the kitchen to one of my favorite tunes with a whole new meaning now! (Click to get your dance on!)
